A loan helped to buy clothes and shoes; and fish, yuccas, bowls and spoons for the encebollado.

Monserrate María's story

Monserrate is 40 years old, she is married, and she has three children that are not adults. They are all in school; two in high school and one in elementary. Her husband is a prospective welder, and she lives in the city of Manta.

She is very hardworking and she helps with the home expenses by selling clothing, dresses, natural products, jewelry, shoes and sandals. She does this work for three days each week and goes out from door to door to sell her products for cash and credit, with weekly and bi-monthly charges. Additionally, on the weekends, she sells encebollado (a traditional Ecuadorian soup).

This loan is to buy clothes and shoes; and fish, yuccas, bowls and spoons for the encebollado. Her big dream is to have enough of her own capital for her business and to satisfy her children's needs.
