Marie's story

Meet 28-year-old Marie from Moriba branch. She is married with two children between the ages of 4 and 10 years old. The two of them are currently attending school.

Marie runs a retail table business and sells Maggie, onions, seasonings, oil, salt, tomatoes, couscous, macaroni, etc. She has been in this business for the past six years now and works 9 hours per day and 6 days a week. Marie says her business is going well. Her other source of income is from her husband.

Marie requested this loan from BRAC to purchase more Maggie, onions, seasonings, oil, salt, tomatoes, couscous, macaroni and other items. She says that the extra income from this loan will improve her standard of living. In the future she wants her business to expand into a big shop. She says thanks to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.
