Mariya is married with two grown children: a 30-year-old daughter and a 25-year-old son. She is an entrepreneur from Ivano-Frankivsk. She runs a retail business selling women’s and children’s clothing and footwear. Mariya owned four retail kiosks in the same market called Central Industrial Market. However, a recent fire in a storage where she used to keep all he inventory destroyed most of her merchandise and caused much damage to her business. As a result of fire damage, Mariya currently owns only two kiosks. One of the main attractions of her business is affordable prices. Mariya has been in this business for 12 years. Presently, her monthly income is about 6,000 Grivnyas. Mariya is requesting a 12,000 Grivnya loan to purchase 20 women’s suits, 30 blouses and 40 sweat suits. She is hoping to generate additional income and make some savings for upcoming winter when market sales usually go down. One of Mariya’s long-term plans is to open a second vending location.
