Alberto's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to fertilize and remove weeds from his coffee farm, which is dedicated to organic farming.

Alberto's story

Alberto is 42 years old and lives in the village of Chamanal, a small community of coffee farmers on the outskirts of the province of San Ignacio, Peru. His parents started to teach Alberto farm work when he was a child. He lives with his wife, and they have two school-aged children.

Alberto maintains his own parcel of land, 2.5 hectares of coffee that is of excellent quality and great flavor, and sells his coffee to the Lima Coffee Association. His dreams are to grow his coffee farming area to improve his house and his family’s living conditions.

This loan will allow Alberto to adequately manage his farm and increase its productivity through the timely cultivation of his crops. It is his first loan with Norandino, and he appreciates the Kiva lenders for the trust they have invested in helping him to achieve his goals.
