Lilian's story

Get to know Lilian. A beautiful and humble woman, she is honest and hardworking. She is from the Eldoret area of Kenya. She did not have the opportunity to advance in her education to get a white-collar job.

Lilian adores her lovely family and will do anything to keep them from lacking food. She plans to succeed in life and has been farming for seven years. She is experienced and has many farming techniques at her fingertips. She practices mixed farming to take care of her family's needs and to provide them with a good education. She believes that education is the key to success for her children.

Lilian is very enterprising. She will use the 35,000 KES to buy seeds and farm inputs to improve her horticulture farming. She wants to take advantage of, and reap more profits from favorable weather patterns, her village's good road network, good soil, and a ready market for horticulture products.

She hopes to improve her living conditions through this loan. Her dream is to sell fruit and vegetables in the local and international markets to ensure her children a secure future and uninterrupted learning, because she will be able to pay tuition fees on time. Lilian dreams of buying a house, and she hopes she can accomplish that with the profits from her business.

Juhudi Kilimo is partnering with Kiva and Kiva lenders to help hardworking women like Lilian turn their farming dreams into reality through training and financing loans.
