Agnes's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a generator that she will use in pumping water from the river to her farm.

Agnes's story

Kiva lenders!

Agnes is a single mother and smallholder farmer who detests poverty. That is why every day, before the piercing African sun comes out of its “sleep,” she is already awake and busy on her farm (by 5 a.m.).

Agnes is one of the most hardworking women on Earth. She is 48 years of age, very hardworking and a go-getter. She is a proud mother of lovely cupcakes (children).

She hails from a remote village in the Limuru area of Kenya. This area has harsh weather conditions, and to survive, you must have tough skin. She has defied all the odds and has been engaged in farming for the past 10 years.

Her primary sources of income are crops and dairy animal farming. Agnes passionately loves farming and has even nicknamed one of her cows.

Whenever she is milking her cow, she feels proud. She is contented with the farming way of life.

Her biggest challenge in farming is irrigating her farm. She is requesting a loan to buy a generator that she will use in pumping water from the river to her farm. Irrigation is used to assist in the growing of agricultural crops.

Through this loan, she will be able to double her crop production, and this will translate to more income. Through the extra income from farming, she will be able to support her family and keep up with her rising family expenses.

Kindly light up a life this holiday season by granting Agnes a loan and keep her dream alive!
