Carthrine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more sardines, toothpaste, milk and other food items to sell.

Carthrine's story

This is 40-year-old Carthrine. She lives together with her partner and four children. Two of her children are in school, and all of them live at home.

Carthrine went to school until the fourth grade. She sells sardines, toothpaste, milk and other food items. She started this business with financial help from her husband and she learned the trade from her mother. She has been managing this business for years now and she describes herself as hardworking business woman.

Carthrine uses a commercial car to transport supplies to her business site. She says at times the rate goes high on the market. For this reason, prices increase. She spends 10 hours at her business site.

To increase her business, Carthrine is requesting a loan from Kiva's field partner BRAC Liberia. She will use the loan to buy more sardines, toothpaste, milk and other food items to sell. She likes her business, because it gives her money. In the future, she would like to build a house and continue paying for her children's education. She says thanks to all lenders around the world.
