Binta A is the one holding a ram in the photo. She a native of Mali, 42 years old and illiterate. She lives with her husband and four children (two daughters and two sons) ranging from five to 15 years of age. Two of her children are in school. Binta’s husband is a farmer. For 15 years, Binta has been buying sheep to raise and resell, helping her husband with household expenses.

Binta is a creditworthy customer who is applying for a repeat loan to buy addition sheep and animal feed for her business. Her goal is to attract buyers and earn a high revenue from her sales. She buys and sells at the local market. Binta hopes to earn as high a revenue as possible to help her husband provide healthy nutrition and a good education for their children.
