Imtiaz's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy thread, fabric, sequins and pearls of various colors for Imtiaz to embroider bridal gowns.

Imtiaz's story

Imtiaz is a 35-year-old woman who lives with her husband and five children in the area around Muzafargarh, Pakistan. She speaks Punjabi within her family and Urdu culturally and for her business. They live in their own house made of brick that has drinking water, electricity and plumbing.

For the past three years Imtiaz has had an embroidery business to help meet household expenses. Her work is very famous in the area, which means her business is succeeding, as well as seeing an increase in clientele.

Imtiaz especially wants to meet the demand for embroidered fabric for bridal gowns. She needs to buy thread, fancy fabric, sequins and pearls of various colors but does not have sufficient cash on hand to do so. So Imtiaz has humbly requested a 40,000 PKR loan through Kiva's field partner BRAC Pakistan to buy the materials she needs for her work.

Imtiaz and her family are thankful for assistance from Kiva lenders and field partner BRAC Pakistan, as by funding this loan their living standards will improve.
