Hasmik's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for fertilizer, potato seeds, and materials for the greenhouse.

Hasmik's story

Hasmik is from Tsaghkalanj village, in Armenia. She lives with her husband, mother-in-law, and son. She has many years of experience in the agricultural field. The family's farm currently includes cows, oxen, and calves. They cultivate cucumber, potato, greens, and strawberries.

Hasmik's husband sells the gathered harvest locally. As a result of their hard and tireless work, agriculture helps the family have income and be able to sustain their lives. Now, Hasmik, with her hardworking family, has applied for this loan to enlarge their farm.

As this is Hasmik’s first loan, it has been approved within the framework of the new joint initiative of Kiva and SEF. The first chance loan program provides loans to people who don’t have access to credit products because they have no credit history.

The loan that Hasmik has requested will be used to purchase fertilizer, potato seeds, and materials for the greenhouse, which is very important for successful land cultivation.
Additional income would greatly assist this family to cover their costs and improve their living conditions.
