Emmy's story

Hello, Kiva community!

Nandi hills, Kenya is a town that is famous for producing the “creme de la creme” when it comes to athletes. It also has a lot of small farmers who work the land and raise animals. Unfortunately, these farmers face many challenges, including the high costs of farm inputs.

Emmy has experienced these challenges, but she always finds a way to pull through. She is from a remote village in the Nandihills area of Kenya. Emmy is elegant and admirable in spirit and effort. She is a role model, a mentor, and an inspiration to many young farmers in her village because of her resilience, despite personal challenges, and her passion for supporting her family as the primary caregiver.

For the past 10 years, Emmy has been involved in mixed farming. Her primary sources of income have been growing maize and vegetables as well as keeping dairy cows. Emmy has been able to provide nutritious food for her family.

Emmy is requesting a loan to buy cereals to resell at the market in her village. Her remote village has a ready market for cereals, but the main challenge is a lack of cereals. With this loan, she will be able to sell cereals and meet the local demand.

Emmy awaits your kindness. Be inspired to loan to her today to keep her big smile!
