Nt Sisters Group's story

It is nice for kids who hang out with friends at lunchtime to have snacks. This has created income for Nancy. She is a lady aged 33, and she specializes in the buying and selling of snacks and confectioneries. Her business is mainly bulk purchase and bulk selling, but also does retail for other few product lines.

Nancy has been in the business for 4 years. She operates in Harare, where she rents a shop for the business. Nancy is married and has 3 school going children, and she has employed a maid to take care of them. Her husband is a self-employed mechanic.

Nancy heard about Thrive, and then invited her friends to form a group and join so that they may receive financial training and financial support for their businesses. After training, she learned the importance of record keeping and the importance of savings. In addition, the training gave the borrowers insight on how to grow their businesses through borrowing.

Nancy wanted to buy more snacks so that she will be able to supply more to school children, and with the current loan she is now able to buy and sale variety of flavors. Furthermore, she wanted to supply ice and drinks since we have approached summer season. With the loan, she intends to grow her customer base and add other lines of stocks so that her business grows.
