A loan helped to buy 4 sheep and some black-eyed peas.

Yacine's Group's story

This group pf 7 people is part of the "banc villageois" created in July of 2006. It groups together women who are very supportive of each other and are merchants and livestock fatteners.

Yacine, standing on the right of the photo and raising her hand, is the featured borrower. She is 45 years old, married, and the mother of 6 children, 3 of whom are girls. She fattens livestock and is also a merchant.

She plans to use her new loan to buy 4 sheep which she will raise and later resell. She will also buy some black-eyed peas with the rest of her loan, which she will resell to retail customers.

Part of her profits will be saved with the "banc villageois" and part will be used to support her husband with the daily expenses.
