Maria's story

Maria is 55 years old and is married with six children. She lives in a rural community outside of Honiara, the capital city of Solomon Island.

She owns and operates a small general store business selling food basics such as rice, noodles, biscuits, canned foods and snacks in her community to earn a living. She has been doing this for 3 years.

Maria has requested a loan to pay for additional food items to increase her stock capacity, to meet her customer demands and assist her in running her business.

She hopes to use her profits to support her family and improve her small general store business.

She joined SPBD in 2015 to gain access to financial services for her business.
