A loan helped us market and sell our Stojo reusable cups, preventing thousands of disposable cups from being tossed into landfills. Please support our mission to end disposable cup use!
I was born and raised in Vermont. I’ve always loved the outdoors and the environment. And ever since the second grade when I got my first paper route and started shoveling snow for neighbors, I‘ve been hooked on business. I’ve lived in NYC since 2000. The amount of garbage we generate here is astounding. And it is much more visible here than in the country or suburbs. It bothers me a lot to see how much litter ends up on the streets. The biggest contributors are water bottles, coffee cups and takeout food containers. When we came up with the idea for Stojo, I saw an opportunity to do something that I could be proud of, that my kids could be proud of. The past three years has been exciting and scary. Launching a business is not easy. As an owner, the responsibility all lies with you. What we’ve built is something special. I envision a future where humanity returns, through technology and socialization, to living in harmony with the planet. Zero waste should be our goal. I dream of a time when the water is clean, the air is clean, our cities and streets are clean. Nothing gets wasted or disposed of. Everything is recycled, repurposed, composted or turned into energy. That’s what Stojo intends to fight for.
