Bawt Lone-7 Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand the bamboo strip business she successfully set up in 2011 with the help of a Kiva loan.

Bawt Lone-7 Group's story

Bawt Lone – 7 Group is located in Myingyan, a city in the Mandalay division of Central Myanmar. The majority of people in this region are farmers, but many are starting to move into new opportunities after realizing there is not much money in farming. This the case with the ambitious members of this group, who are trying new enterprises to support their families.

Aye (first from the left) is the featured borrower for this group. Along with her husband, she started a business making traditional bamboo strip mats - a common household item in Myanmar - in 2011. Like with every business, she had to cope with financial instability during the early years. She was able to weather these tough times with the help of a Kiva loan, for which she is very grateful. She now wants to expand her business.

“I am going to use this loan to buy more bamboo strips and hire some helpers to increase my productivity,” says Aye.

The other members of this group are: Ye, Ni, Ye Ye, and Myint.
