Dolores Obdulia's story

Dolores is 61 years old. She is married and has five adult children from this relationship. Her husband works hauling tagua [a nut similar to ivory on the inside and can be carved]. They live in the town of Montecristi know for its rich pre-colonial history and for its crafts. It is recognized on the national and international level.

Dolores is woman who, despite her advanced age, seeks a way to earn an income and to help her husband cover the household costs. This is why she works selling clothing. Her way of selling is door to door in addition to selling from her home where her customers come when they are in need of a garment. She sells on credit and collects every eight days.

She will use this loan to buy shirts, blouses and pants, among other garments. Her dream is to continue forward.
