Jamuna's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to expand her women's accessories business by purchasing more items like bangles, necklaces, earrings, etc. in bulk.

Jamuna's story

Jamuna is a 41-year-old woman hailing from the Imphal District of Manipur. Manipur is one of the ‘seven sisters’ in the Northeastern region of India. The state is breathtakingly beautiful but happens to be one of the most impoverished states in the country. The region has had a very volatile history, and continues to be fraught with problems relating to insurgency.

She is married and the couple has two school-going daughters. Jamuna sells women’s accessories. She wants to expand the business further so that it can increase her income to improve her living standards. This can be done by adding more items to her shop like bangles, necklaces, rings, purses, chains, etc.

For this, she doesn’t have sufficient capital and hence she has applied for a loan of INR 30,000 from Chanura, Milaap's field partner, which can aid the business expansion. She understands this can secure her future and she is thankful to all her lenders.
