Port- 12 De Mayo Group's story

Alicia is 40 years old, separated and has two children, one who is grown and the youngest who is 9. She belongs to this group which is made up of 11 women and two men. They decided to get together and form this loan group with the aim of improving their businesses. They live in Crucita, an area known for the beautiful beaches that adorn it's coasts.

She is a very tenacious woman who has to work hard to support her children because she is a single mother. To earn an income she works selling clothing and Avon products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and women's accessories). She sells door to door and also out of her house as her customers come to her. She sells her merchandise on credit and collects payments every week. She has a very good customer base that she has built up over about five years and that definitely enables her to make a living.

This loan is to buy clothing, perfumes, creams and many other products that she sells. Her goal is to ensure that her children never want for anything.
