Amani Group's story

Denise is president of the village bank "AMANI". She is 48 years old, married and mother to eight children who all attend school. She earns a living selling cornmeal in the central market of the town square. She started this business at a young age with funds received from her husband (who is also a trader), and has continued to grow her business with loans funds received from microfinance lender Hekima. With this loan, she will fund the purchase and transport of a bulk order of 22 bags of cornmeal.

Denise's primary focus is always her children's well-being, education, and nourishment. She also hopes to one day open a store so that she can serve more customers. She is grateful to Hekima and all Kiva lenders for their ongoing support of small business owners.
