María Lucila's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase soil amendments and weed her farm of coffee destined for organic and fair trade production.

María Lucila's story

María Lucila, 43 years old, lives in the village of Vista Hermosa, in San Ignacio district, Peru. She lives with her husband and 1 of her 2 daughters. Since she was very young, she has worked in coffee growing, which has allowed her to get her children ahead and give them an education.

She grows coffee as her primary business, but in addition, she generates extra income raising and selling small animals such as chickens, guinea pigs, and pigs.

She sells her coffee in her cooperative CENFROCAFE, destined for sale on the organic and fair trade market.

Maria Lucila considers herself to be a thrifty, helpful and responsible woman. Her desire is that in the future she can purchase a plot of land in the city and be able to live with her husband, giving her family a better quality of life. This is her second loan financed by Kiva.
