Muyangwa's story

At the age of 21, Muyangwa is the breadwinner in her family. She takes care of her mother and younger siblings who are still in school. She was raised by her single mother who is unemployed.

Muyangwa was a bright young girl in school but she could not proceed to college due to financial constraints. Her dream is to become a nurse and she been accepted by several colleges. Muyangwa knows completing her education is possible once she is financially stable. To save towards her studies, Muyangwa has chosen to become an entrepreneur.

Last February, she signed up with Zoona to become an agent assisting the community with sending and receiving money. Her outlet is in Mongu and at a prime location with the potential to grow and expand to more locations where financial services are lacking. Muyangwa's business is hindered as she has been unable to increase her cash flow to service all her customers with cash in/ cash out transactions and bill payments. This saddens Muyangwa, as she knows how vital her services are and every customer she lets down is potential income lost.

Muyangwa is therefore requesting a Kiva loan to increase her daily cash on hand and ensure that she has sufficient float to manage her Zoona outlet. Muyangwa plans to employ tellers to run her business, once she is able to pursue her studies and achieve her dream of being a nurse.
