I am a young minority entrepreneur with a ton of potential. I grew up in a two parent household in a small town in North Carolina, I've had a great support system for my entire life. My father was a great provider and my mother was a loving caretaker. Because, they were not business owners, they lacked the knowledge and skills for teaching me the importance of business ownership for financial independence. Within the last 5 to 10 years, I've discovered the importance of entrepreneurship while helping those less fortunate and while seeking to encourage our youth . Throughout my life I have always had an entrepreneur's mindset, but due to family obligations and financial obligations my opportunity in pursuing my dream was put on hold. While growing up in a small town, I resisted a lot of temptations as a child that could have led me down the wrong path, but due to loving parents, teachers, coaches, and my pastor they all helped to ensure that I was in a positive setting. Considering the support I have had and still have today, I feel I’m in a place where I can give back to my community especially to the younger generation. My future plans are to utilize my artistic talents in creating positive storybooks and bow ties to increase reading comprehension and build self-confidence in young children. I believe if I’m able to utilize these talents I will be able to provide better for myself, family, and leave a positive impact on our youth.
