Sartawi Quelcata Group's loan finished fundraising, but these other borrowers need your support

A loan helped to purchase seeds and fertilizers at wholesale.

Sartawi Quelcata Group's story

The "Sartawi Quelcata" communal bank is beginning its first loan cycle in Pro Mujer, as part of the Copacabana Focal Center. The group is composed of 9 members and is led by a board of directors with Maxima as President.

The loan they are taking out will benefit small micro-entrepreneurs, among them Maxima, a member. Currently, she has a business selling potato starch and freeze-dried potatoes. Maxima tells us that she learned this business on her own initiative some years ago.

The current loan will augment her capital for use in purchasing seeds and fertilizers at wholesale. She will acquire these inputs from wholesalers in the city of La Paz, then plant and harvest the potatoes. In other words, the purchase will serve as a means of production.

This kind of work will allow Maxima to generate resources to help her family economically, since she is married and has 3 children.
