A loan helped to buy embroidery raw material for her husband's embroidery business to further establish it.

Riffat's story

Riffat is a 37-year-old married woman, living with her husband in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is a mother of three children and she lives with her husband. Her husband is responsible for fulfilling the needs of the entire family and he has been running an embroidery business for two years. His embroidery business is very famous in the market, and that is the reason why the business is running well. Due to good relations, the business has grown.

Riffat's husband wants to meet the demand for bridal dresses. That is why he wants to buy thread, fancy cloth, sequins and pearls of various colors in advance, to have them in stock. He requires some capital to buy the desired items but does not have sufficient cash on hand.

The challenge Riffat's husband is facing is to have sufficient capital to run the business and to be able to support the family in its present form. Therefore, Riffat humbly requested a loan from BRAC Pakistan. Through this loan, her husband will be able to buy the thread, fancy cloth, sequins and pearls of various colors that he needs.

She is very thankful to Kiva and BRAC Pakistan.
