Hajira's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to help buy calves to resell in the festive seasons such as Eid ul Azha (the Festival of Sacrifice).

Hajira's story

Hajira is a 53-year-old woman who has four children and lives with her spouse in the area of Muzzafargharh, Pakistan. Her native language is Punjabi, which she speaks with her family, and she speaks Urdu culturally and for her business. They live in their own house made of brick that has drinking water, electricity, and plumbing.

Hajira has requested a 60,000 PKR loan through BRAC Pakistan to buy calves and animal food for her livestock business. Hajira has been raising calves as a source of income for five years and receives financial aid from BRAC Pakistan for her livestock business. With that aid she buys calves from the animal markets and raises them until the following season, when she resells them in the same markets with the help of her husband in the festive seasons such as Eid ul Azha (the Festival of Sacrifice). Hajira and her family are thankful to Kiva, its lenders and its field partner, BRAC Pakistan, for helping them by funding this loan to improve their living standards.
