Victoria's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase agricultural supplies to plant potatoes to await the rainy season.

Victoria's story

Victoria is 30 years old, single, and her business is potato production. She does her work in Betanzos, a rural area well-known for its caves adorned with prehistoric cave paintings.

Victoria lives in a house which belongs to her family, her parents passed down 6 hectares of land to her, a part which she annually cultivates with potatoes while the other part rests. She also has small plots of wheat and barley. She makes her sales in the community and in the city, thanks to this work her family economic situation is stable. Her crops do not have an irrigation system, they only get the water from rain, the season for which the prepared land awaits. The work is manual and she does it with a traditional plow, a sprayer backpack, a wheelbarrow, shovels and pickax.

The rainy season is approaching and she needs to prepare the land, applying soil amendments and insecticides. The advantage is that she stores the harvest and sells it according to the demand, the disadvantage is the lack of help in the work.

Her dream is to have machines. She wants to prepare the land to await the rain. With this loan, she will pay labor costs and purchase soil amendments and insecticide to prepare the land. This is the first loan that she has received from the institution in the 6 years she has worked in this business.

It is for these reasons that Victoria asks for a loan to purchase agricultural supplies to plant potatoes to await the rainy season.
