Jeneba's story

Greetings from Torkpoi town, a community near the small and busy eastern rural district in Sierra Leone.

This is 34-year-old Jeneba, a married mother and local business woman. Jeneba has three children between the ages of 5 and 11 years old. Her husband is a civil servant.

Jeneba has a fast food business that sells fry fish, salad and couscous which is served with stew. She started her business to take care of her family's needs. Jeneba has been doing this business for 10 years now. Jeneba would like to empower her life. Jeneba works 6 days a week and 9 hours per day. This is her only source of income she has and she is proud of her young business. She likes the fact that she continues to have new customers and has kept the old ones.

Jeneba wants to use this loan to buy raw fish, gallon oil and cooking seasonings so that she can sell to her customers. Jeneba would like to open a big restaurant. She really wants to improve her life and is grateful to BRAC Sierra Leone and the Kiva community for their financial support.
