Elly's Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!
A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer for the cultivation of maize, as well as a solar light.
Elly's Group's story
Elly is 20 years old and is often described as a very hardworking individual. As a group leader, Elly is representing his group of 9 farmers in Kilolo North District in Tanzania. He is excited to be joining One Acre Fund for the first time this year. The decision to join One Acre Fund was largely a result of Elly's desire to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods. Apart from receiving farming inputs, he is also purchasing a solar light as part of his loan, which is very exciting to him as he will now be able to have light during the night and have somewhere to charge his phone. With the profits that he gains from this year’s harvest, he plans to rent more land to cultivate in. Elly and his group will receive a total of 5 solar lights as well as input loans of maize and fertilizer to plant a total of 13.5 acres.
