Juan José's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to increase production of 0.7 hectares.

Juan José's story

Juan worked for many years picking coffee, and eight years ago he began to manage his own small plantation of 0.88 hectares with his wife's help. They live in northern Nicaragua in the city of Jinotega with their two children who are in elementary school. His plantation is Fair Trade certified, demonstrating his commitment to the environment.

Over the past three years he has increased his plantation's production with a loan administered by APAC; he produced 15 quintals thanks to improved production. The loan solicited will be used for the next harvest, renovating areas with low crop yields and buying supplies such as plants, bags and paying the cost of labor.

With his family's support, Juan has been able to maximize his resources and improve his plantation's production, stabilizing his family's finances and supporting the community. This loan will allow him to improve the yield of 0.7 hectares with low production, he hopes to increase production by 40%. Juan's dream is to have a model plantation so he can share his experience with other growers and support his family's well-being.
