Bertilio's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to replace a biodigester and continue to adequately treat dairy cattle manure.

Bertilio's story

Bertilio and his son Alejandro have worked in milk production for more than 40 years. Alejandro will soon inherit the farm and the dairy business. He is looking to keep working on the farm which, with a lot of effort, they have grown together.

As part of the new vision, they want to replace the current biodigester which has done its job. This biodigester has allowed them to adequately treat the cow manure, reduce the bad odor, and reduce emissions of greenhouse gases. The generated biofertilizer was utilized in an irrigation system to fertilize the pastures. Additionally, they took advantage of the biogas to pasteurize the milk that they sell.

Alejandro is committed to installing and putting the fertigation and milk pasteurization into effect with the new biodigester. He will invest in a burner to cook the food in his house with the biogas that he generates.
