Rose's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm implements such as pesticides and herbicides, and also to pay laborers.

Rose's story

Rose’s story is of an honest, hardworking, warrior woman, a woman who left everything to raise her 4 children. With very few resources, she has pulled through.

Rose is a responsible and diligent smallholder farmer from Cherangany village who is involved in dairy and maize/corn farming. Her work brings home an important source of income. She gets help with the work from her family members.

Rose is seeking a loan to purchase quality farm inputs. Rose will use the money from your loan investment to buy important supplies such as herbicides and pesticides to manage weeds and preserve the harvested produce. She also plans to use part of the money to pay laborers, loaders, and transporters.

Rose is optimistic that this year's harvest will be better than last season's. Income from the dairy will be used to make initial loan repayments until the crops are harvested and sold.

Most micro-financers, particularly in the Kitale area of Kenya, don’t give loans to smallholder farmers, but Juhudi Kilimo is different. Juhudi Kilimo is expanding into this market and is happy to provide Kiva lenders with the opportunity to support Kenyan smallholder farmers. Be inspired, make a loan!
