Rabiha High School's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a water filtration system to provide clean drinking water for students.

Rabiha High School's story

Greetings from Uganda!

This is Rahma. She is the head teacher of Rabiha High School, a mixed school in the urban area of Bombo in Luwero with 190 students.

Rabiha High School has requested a loan to cover the cost of installing and maintaining a ceramic water filtration system to provide clean drinking water for students. Currently, the school does not have access to consistent clean drinking water, so it has to spend a considerable portion of its budget on firewood to boil water.

Installing a water filtration system will save the school money in the long-term, since it will reduce money spent on firewood. This loan will enable the school to purchase a ceramic water treatment system with a 120 litre tank, which will be big enough to store enough clean drinking water for the students every day.

Rabiha High School will repay their loan from their school fees, which they collect each term. Ultimately, Rahma hopes that having access to safe drinking water will improve her student’s concentration and attendance by reducing the number of children who fall sick from waterborne diseases, as well as increase the number of students returning to the school.
