A loan helped To buy chemicals for his farmland.

Fidel's story

Fidel is a happy 26 year old father, currently living with his wife and their only son in his parents' house. He inherited some seasonal farm plots (depending on the rainy season) in his village, but they only produce potatoes and ollucos once a year. Because of this, he decided to plant more potatoes in his wife's town (2 hours away by car) since it is irrigated land and he can generate higher earnings. Right in the middle of the busy spell of his last harvest he suffered a car accident. It was not very grave, but he was still able to finish harvesting the following day. Fidel sells his products next to the city's wholesale market, where, in a span of two hours, he can sell all his produce and return home very happily with his money. Now Fidel trusts that farming his wife's land and his own will greatly improve his economic status and this encourages him to keep putting forth effort at his job as a farmer.

This is his tenth loan with MFP and now he has an even greater desire to prosper and grow through his harvests. For this reason he is turning to a loan and the support of his community bank. He plans to use the money to buy chemicals for his next potato crop.
