Zawadi Group's story

Leontine is 61 years old, married, and the mother of three children who are no longer in school. She is a client of the Hekima microfinance institution and the president of the "Zawadi" community bank. She started selling cassava and maize flour 18 years ago with an initial start-up capital received from her husband who works in business. Later on she started to take loans form Hekima.

She will use her loan to buy 10 bags of cassava flour as well as 15 bags of maize flour, and to pay for the transportation of these goods. Her ambition is to open a large warehouse and to start a mill. She would also like to renovate her house. She thanks Hekima and its partners for their generous initiative to financially support the poor.
