Aye Ywar Thit (Kyon) (B) Village Group's story

Located in the Delta Region of Myanmar in the Dedaye Township is the beautiful Aye Ywar Thit village. It is a small agri-village with 65 households. Most households located in this village make a living by cultivating paddy rice and other seasonal fruit and vegetables, and/or by breeding livestock such as pigs, ducks, and chickens.

Pictured above are Htin, Myint, Nyunt, Moe, Khin and Khin H, the members of Aye Ywar Thit (Kyon) (B) Village Group. The man, third from the left in the picture is Khin, the featured borrower. He is 68 years old and lives with his wife and six children. Khin grows rice on his family's two acre farm while also cultivating betel nuts and banana plantations for extra income.

Through this new loan from Kiva, Khin and other members will purchase more crop seeds and high quality fertilizer and pesticides.
