Tali's story

Tali is 47 years old and married with five children. She lives in a rural village in Samoa. She owns and operates three taxis and a retail shop. She has been running her business for six years now. She’s a hardworking, determined person that would do anything to help her family.

Tali became a borrower with SPBD seven years ago and has successfully borrowed and repaid eight loans. Due to her successful history, She is one of a select group that is eligible for a larger loan of $8,000 WST. She will use this loan to buy another taxi and expand her business.

With this loan, Tali will also be supporting her community by providing a service (transportation). In the past, Tali has used the profits from her business to employ local people as her business grows and help her children’s education.

In the future, she hopes to build a taxi station at her place to expand her business. Her dream is to build taxi station at different places to cover the whole country with the good services of her business by providing transportation, as well as restocking her retail shop. She became a member of SPBD in 2010.
