José Marcos's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy inputs for his coffee fields, so that he can improve his family's living conditions.

José Marcos's story

José is a small-scale coffee farmer in the north of Nicaragua. He's 44 years old and he's been involved with agriculture since he was little. Previously, he worked growing staple grains, but they aren't a very profitable commodity, says José Marcos, and that's why he decided to put his efforts into producing coffee.

This microentrepreneur has been improving the productivity of his farm: in the last cycle, he attained a production of 10.28 quintales of depulped unroasted coffee beans on 1.4 hectares.

For this year, he proposes to increase his yield, and for this reason he is requesting a loan that will enable him to ensure that he can do necessary maintenance on his coffee fields on time. This includes the purchase of inputs and necessary fertilizers for his plantation.
