Chisipite Group's story

Tashaiwa is an innovative, determined and energetic woman. She is in the Chisipite group based in Borrowdale, Harare. The Chisipite group is centered on a very strong social bond, as the 3 members have been perennial friends and attend the same church. Tashaiwa is a 41-year-old mother of 4 children and is married to a self-employed husband.

Tashaiwa is into market gardening and poultry rearing whilst the other 2 members are into poultry. Tashaiwa specializes in producing tomatoes and onions. The quality of her produce is so high that she has managed to secure a ready market in the form of major supermarket retailers. Her poultry endeavors are also mouthwatering as she has a 700 bird capacity fowl run.

The major strength that she has as a business person is her 10 years worth of experience in the horticulture sector that has seen her master the production and value chain of the business. She has managed to replicate her horticultural business expertise to her poultry business. Tashaiwa has taken a loan of $500. The loan will largely be directed towards her poultry business for restocking chicken feed and chicks.
