Mamawa's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone!

This is 31-year-old Mamawa from Moriba town branch. She is married with two children between the ages of 13 and 17 years. She started her business because she wanted to take care of her family's welfare.

Mamawa runs a salon business around the Moriba town community. She sells weavon, synthetic hair, human hair, hair cream, hair food, and also does her customers' hair too. She has been in this business for the past five years now. She works nine hours per day and six days a week. Her main challenge she faces in the business is the high exchange rate.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more weavon, synthetic hair, human hair, hair cream, and hair food. Mamawa says that the extra income from this loan will help to repay her loan and to take care of her family In the future. She would like to expand into a big salon.

She thanks BRAC and Kiva for their support.
