Kala Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase additional bags of groundnuts to sell.

Kala Group's story

Hawa, age 58 and pictured at the right, is the leader of Kala, a group of four members. All four members are engaged in petty trading to earn a living, but each of them sells different products. Hawa was chosen to be the leader of the group because of her wealth of experience in managing people.

Hawa sells food as her business. She has been in this business for the past 11 years. She uses the proceeds from her business to help meet her family's household expenses. She is a married woman with five children. Hawa and her group members requested a total loan of 6,000,000 SLL. Hawa will use her share of 1,500,000 SLL to purchase additional bags of groundnuts to sell.

She is hopeful that her business will thrive so she can build enough savings to secure her family's future. In particular, she wishes to continue to be able to support her children’s education. Hawa and her group members thank you for helping to finance their businesses.
