Mamadou's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy 150 kilos of groundnut seeds, 20 kilos of cotton seeds, 15 kilos of maize seeds, three bags of fertilizers, and three bags of herbicides.

Mamadou's story

Mamadou is 45 years old and the father of five children between the ages of 16 and 10. Three of his children attend school. He uses two hectares of land to grow groundnuts, maize and cotton on plots of equal size. At the end of the rainy season his total yield amounts to 20 bags of groundnut, 10 bags of maize, and one metric ton of cotton. His maize is grown for direct consumption. Mamadou is an experienced farmer but he is faced with challenges such as the high cost of good-quality agricultural inputs, the lack of farming tools, and delayed financing.

Mamadou will use his loan to buy three bags of good-quality fertilizer, 150 kilos of groundnut seeds, 20 kilos of cotton seeds, 15 kilos of maize seeds, and 10 bags of herbicides. He will also use some of his money to pay for labor costs. This loan will help him to boost his yield and improve the quality of his production.

Mamadou will use his profits to continue to send three of his children to school and to ensure his family's well-being. He also plans to buy some livestock in order to diversify his activity and to put some money into savings towards his children's higher education.
