A loan helped to buy more dry goods to sell.

Mamie's story

This is 43 year old Mamie. She lives together with her partner along with 4 children, ranging in age 7 through 19 years, all of whom are in school while living at home. She earns her living by selling dry goods such as chairs, tables and mats. Mamie started to sell with her own money and learned how to sell from her mother. For the past 10 years she has been doing this business and she considers herself to be a good business woman. Mamie uses a vehicle to transport supplies to her business site. She has no problems with her business. Each day Mamie spends 10 hours running her business.

She wants to increase her business; therefore, she asked for a loan through BRAC Liberia and Kiva Field Partner to buy more dry goods to sell. Mamie likes how fast her business is and she is proud of her business because it gives her money. In the future she plans to continue sending her children to school. She wishes to say thanks.
