Nancy Kezia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to increase her cash on hand for her start-up business so that she can provide financial services to her unbanked community and generate an income to support her family.

Nancy Kezia's story

Kezia is a 26-year-old woman. She is married and has 2 toddlers. She grew up in a stable family and her parents managed to educate her and her 3 siblings; they all have careers as teachers. Kezia did a teaching course and worked as a teacher up to 2016 and now she is unemployed and has been looking for new employment with no success.

As her husband's income is not sufficient to cover all the family's needs, Kezia has decided to run a business as a Zoona mobile transactions agent, as she identified a gap in the banking industry. This business will not only improve her financial situation, but it will benefit the community as well. The people in and around Chipata will have financial services closer to them and they can send and receive money easily across Zambia. Kezia also offers a service that allows people to save their money without having to pay for monthly fees or deposit charges. This helps her community save even more as there are less charges incurred through a mobile transaction than formal banking.

Kezia hopes to receive a loan from Kiva lenders to assist her with her business. This loan will help her have sufficient cash on hand and electronic funds to process all her customers cash in/cash out transactions.
