Frances's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to open a store, collection center, marketing and opening fees for my second hand fine clothing boutique, which will also help my community and environment.

Frances's story

I grew up in a little town in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, in a big family of 37 cousins, where family values and togetherness were priority. My grandpa owned the local supermarket and it was common to see him helping families in need and sharing everything they had. His example and those great memories helped to shape the person I am today. I studied Business Administration in the University of Puerto Rico, with a Major in Finance and a Minor in Accounting, went to Virginia Tech as an exchange student and finished a Master’s Degree in Finance from the Interamerican University of PR. I recently graduated from the Caguas Compite Entrepreneurial Program, where I had the chance to develop the Boutique’s business structure including social responsibility. Through the past 12 years I have my own home-based skincare, makeup and spa products business, where I lead an average of 200 people salesforce, and earned Top Sales and Top Recruiting recognition for various years. Recently the idea of the business came to mind, when I dreamed of a little boutique with fine second hand clothes where clients were amazed on the quality, the brands and the prices. My goal is to educate the clients to use second hand clothes while also they can help, donate and recycle textile (which is the second global pollutant after petroleum and not many people talk about it). As of today we have donated to local Non-Profit Organizations including Hogar Nueva Mujer, Casa de Todos, elderly homes and cancer patients. In 5 years I plan to have spread the concept and make a huge difference through the whole Island, but meanwhile, I am starting the first D’Occasion Boutique store in my local community with all your help.
