Badamasi's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase improved farm inputs that will increase his farm's yield.

Badamasi's story

Badamasi is a Babban Gona maize farmer from Gidan village and resides with his family in a mud house. Badamasi manages a 0.6-hectare maize farm, through which he supports his family.

Thanks to his hard work, Badamasi and his family could eat three square meals a day. Because he’s a Babban Gona member, this loan will provide him with higher-yielding seeds that are locally adapted, and are widely accepted in his local community. He will also have the recommended pesticides and fertilizers based on the results of his field assessment. This will enable Badamasi to optimize his yield, where he can attain yields of up to 3.8 metric tonnes per hectare, two times the national average in Nigeria. This will not only increase his income earnings 2.8 times the national average, but also ensures that Badamasi can continue to provide for his family.

This season, Badamasi hopes to to double last year's yield, and recalls sending his children to better schools as his greatest memory as a Babban Gona farmer. Badamasi is confident that with Babban Gona, his future is secured and that he will have many more great memories and amazing accomplishments together with his family.
