A loan helped to hire help to cultivate her citrus plants.
Selina is a 20 year old woman. She is single and does not yet have children. She is dedicated to growing citrus. Selina is very energetic and enterprising. She works in Coroico, a tropical and humid valley with high hills covered with dense vegetation. She lives in her own house built of brick, on the same land where she grows her citrus. Her agricultural lands were acquired by hereditary succession. The citrus she grows has annual and quarterly production cycles. For her business to continue being prosperous, she must treat the earth: to weed and to fertilize it, thus nourishing the soil and allowing for sowing. Her business is successful because she sells her produce both wholesale and retail. Her business advantage is that she has been able to time production cycles well, but her major challenge is the ongoing natural erosion of her land. Selina dreams to improve her business - she wants to pay for the maintenance of her crops. This is the first loan she has applied for in her entire life. This loan will help her to pay for the maintenance of her agricultural crops, and with the profits she will invest in other crops. It is for these reasons that Selina asks for a loan to pay for the maintenance of her agricultural crops.
