Kudzidza Hakuperi Group's story

Catherine is a 50-year-old hardworking woman blessed with two children residing in Chitungwiza. Unfortunately, her husband passed away about 5 years ago, making her the breadwinner of her family. Being an entrepreneur was inculcated in her at an early age as she used to sell metal work products like dishes and pots together with her mother.

After getting married, Catherine refused to be a simple housewife and started restocking her own metal sheets. Her husband used to make the dishes and pots for her before he died. Now after his death, Catherine hires local boys to make the products for a fee. She has a huge market in Harare, especially in a suburb called Dzivarasekwa, where she supplies her products. One challenge she faces is that she sometimes sells on credit and her debtors do not pay her on time, which ultimately affects her profits.

Upon realizing that her working capital was not adequate, she approached Thrive for working capital assistance along with her with her friends. Her previous loan helped her grow her business, as she now produces a wider variety of items ranging from cups, plates and baby baths. She used her loan to purchase metal sheets and other materials.
