Racheal grew up in Chipata and was raised in a family that was struggling financially. Racheal could not proceed to college due to the financial situation. Now she is married to a businessman and they have 1 child.

Due to the prevailing economic situation in Zambia, her husband's business is not performing and they still face financial challenges. Racheal has decided to start her own business as a Zoona agent, as she was a teller for 4 years to a prominent Zoona entrepreneur. She offers money transfer services where people are able to send and receive money instantly throughout Zambia.

Racheal's business has been in effect for 2 months and has generated an income of $200, with which she covers business and household expenses. With the business growing daily, Racheal is reaching out to Kiva for a loan. With this loan, she will be able to have sufficient cash to assist every customer with their request. Lately, she has had to turn customers away due to insufficient liquidity. For every transaction Racheal earns an income, and turning away customers is a missed opportunity.
