Amelia Del Socorro's story

Amelia is a 60-year-old microentrepreneur, she is a resident of a neighborhood in the municipality of Barranquilla and for years was involved in the family business selling seasonings and dressings. She had so much experience in this business that she decided to open her own business and distribute her products in the stores to the south of the city and nearby towns. She has been doing this work for twenty years and has gotten excellent economic results, with which she has managed to subsist and get her nine children ahead.

Amelia offers her customers envelopes of cinnamon, chamomile, pepper seasoning, cloves, garlic, and more, including baking soda and bluing, used as whiteners for clothing. Currently, she is applying for her first Kiva loan, through the intermediary of Fundación Mario Santo Domingo, to invest in chamomile, cinnamon, and pepper to build her product displays and ceramic tile to repair the floor in her house. With this investment, she will strengthen her business and will be able to fill her customers' orders in a timely way. Support her.
